Playing superheros with Addie tonight. The assignment of superpowers:
Addie: “I can fly!” (races around the room with her makeshift towel-cape)
Daddy: What’s my super-power?
Addie: “You make noises like this: Woosh-Wooooosh! and you can fly!
Mommy: What’s my superpower? Can I fly?
Addie: no.
Mommy: Can I see throuh doors?
Addie: No, that’s silly.
Mommy: Well what’s my superpower?
Addie: (rushes to the open window in her room) you can SEE THROUGH WINDOWS!!!

Bwahahahahah!

Addie (who is learning about space and the solar system): Mom, why is the sun hot?

Me: Because it’s made of fire. It’s a giant ball of flaming gasses.

Addie: Ya… ya, the sun has really bad gas.

(As I am outside trimming back a ridiculously overgrown rosebush)

Addie: Oh my Hat mom, what did you do??
Me: I’m trimming a rose bush…. what did you say?
Addie: I said, ‘Oh my Hat, mom.’

(pause)

Me: Oh my hat, Addie! You’re so silly!

(Addie Singing):

Zip-a-dee-do-da zip-it-ee-ay!

Mr. Big Birds on my shoulder…

Addie: Mommy, I have to go potty!

Me: Ok! Let’s hurry!

Addie (Now sitting on the pot): Mom, I think it was a false arm.

Me: Oh, a false alarm?

Addie: Ya, just a false arm.

Addie: “This is for my Mommy, it’s a Roller Poster“

Addie: Mom, I can’t have YOUR water… we don’t want to spread worms.

Mommy, I’m so afraid of the cantaloupes…

(Cantaloupes and Woozles)

Me: what about the Woozles?
Addie: No, just the cantaloupes…i’m so afraid of the cantaloupes…
