March 5th Snowstorm

Posted by: Michelle  /  Category: Addie, family and friends

I was very disappointed to wake up to 8-10 inches of snow. However, my little monkey was thrilled. She got up and looked out the window with me and started screaming “SNOW!! SNOWW! SNOOOOWWWWW! snOWing!!!” When I took her out to the car, she would put her hand into a pile of snow and pick up a bit and say Brrrr!

I knew at this point in time, it was a “snow day,” So back inside we went to get her snow boots and gear to take to Gaummie and Gumps house. We weren’t there more than 2 minutes before she was whining at the back door about playing in the snow.

When I left for work, she was still playing in the backyard…

Who are the people in your “neighborgood”?

Posted by: Michelle  /  Category: Just for Fun, family and friends

*edit: It was pointed out to me, no where in this post did I explain “neighborgood”. That is how Addie says it. It’s not a typo.. but thanks for keeping tabs on me, most days I need it!*

This isn’t really about the people in our neighborhood, but Addie does mention my parents neighbors when prompted.

Another conversation in the wee morning hours from anout 2 months ago. I got recording a little late, as I had to wait for a stoplight to find my phone. Addie remembers everyone, she will most likely grow up to be one of those people that never forgets your name, and you are struggling to remember theirs. Ack! I hate when that happens. Good thing she will be around to remind me of everyones name!

365 days of technology goodness

Posted by: Michelle  /  Category: family and friends

Everyday someone does something new on the interwebs. Some experiments prove to be rather successful others, not so much.

365 Day Girl, has no motives that I can see to succeed or fail in marketing and entrepreneurial… things,  but keep an eye on her. I think there are big things in her future. Check out her Blog here. She has about 10,000 online accounts. You can find her on Youtube, Twitter, Flickr, Facebook(but not myspace cause that creeps her out) among others.

The project intrigues me! Learn everything in regards to mastering social media. Doesn’t sound that tough, people do it all the time right? Wrong. Have you ever thought about how many aspects of social media there are? If you think you have, check out her website, blog, youtube, etc and you may change your mind. Aside from that, she is super funny and completely adorable. I’m totally addicted.

I check her pages a few times a day when I need to mellow and distract myself. She talks about poop, and beauty. Who does that??? She open and honest and I totally adore her personality. Check it out!

Punkin Carvin Partee

Posted by: Michelle  /  Category: Holiday, family and friends

Last weekend The Bennion household hosted a Punkin Carvin Partee
Unfortunately, I forgot to grab my camera until the night was over. I am pretty sure my girlfriend Heidi has some pictures from early on in the night. She blogs too, so as soon as they are up I will link over.

This was the end result of the party, 4 hours and six pumpkins later, it was a success!!

This is Jeff’s Pumpkin, REALLY impressive, lots of detail and lots of patience:

This is Jennsen’s Pumpkin. (Okay, Jeff helped) The most impressive thing… this pumpkin is only about 7 inches tall.

This is Addie’s pumpkin. It is modeled after the headless horseman. Now tell me you wouldn’t be scared if this this thing came flying at your head in the middle of the night!!

And finally, my pumpkin. In typical Michelle style, I chose Disney. The wicked queen from Snow White:

Swimming, Swimming, just keep swimming

I hope you all read the title in a sing song voice, and even moreso I hope you thought of Dory in Finding Nemo. But just in case you didn’t enjoy this little clip, courtesy of Disney and…me!

Right! So, now that you all know what swimming is, and what a fish is. Have you ever wondered what a fish out of water looks like?

A BIRD!!

Last weekend my brother Tony invited Grams, Jess, Addie and I over to his apartment to go swimming; and while he never got in the pool, he had fun watching and we had fun splashing, swimming and laughing.

Addie’s 1st Birthday

Posted by: Michelle  /  Category: Addie, Birthdays, family and friends

What a fun filled weekend! Jess and I both took Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday off for Addie’s birthday in order to spend as much time with her as possible. We visited the Aquarium on Thursday (her actual birthday) due to inclement weather.

On Friday, we visited the Zoo! Addie loved the birds and Meerkats.

Then came the big Birthday Bash!!
Addie got a new Wagon from Grumps…

She enjoyed her first taste of sugar in her very own strawberry shortcake!

Addie turns One!!

She loves to share!

And we were surrounded by friends and family, it couldn’t have been a better day.

Happy Birthday My Love!

Posted by: Michelle  /  Category: Birthdays, family and friends

I am a bit behind on my blogging….

To the most wonderful man, I say Happy Birthday!

Thank you for being a part of my life. Thank you for giving me the most beautiful child. Thank you for putting up with my wild mood swings and my over emotional moments. Thank you for sticking by me when I felt like no one else would. Thank you for giving me a second chance and holding my hand when I needed you.

Thank you for teaching me things I didn’t know I wanted to be taught, and thank you for leaning on me when you need to. Thank you for taking the time to hold me on cold winter days. Thank you for kissing my nose when it’s cold. Thank you for doing all the little things, and moving all the big. Thank you for killing big spiders and not killing the little ones. Thank you for giving me your jacket, thank you for reminding me I need to say thank you.

Thank you for helping me get through all the little things that seem so unbearable at the time, and thank you for looking back and laughing with me. Thank you for reminding me to stop and smell the roses and thank you for teaching me you are never to old to change.

Thank you for loving me.

Jess B-Day Party @ Area 51

Pride Day 2009

Posted by: Michelle  /  Category: family and friends

Wow, Pride Day again. Last year I missed it due to my overwhelming belly. This year I was excited to take Addie with me! I spent a little bit of time the night before making her her first rainbow onsie.

Shirley invited Shanda and I up for mimosa at’s her friend Lisa’s house. Addie cried THE WHOLE TIME. It was a rough start, but once we took her outside and she found some “ba”’s to look at, she was fine.

We packed her up in the stroller, wrapped her up in blankets and off we went. Did I mention the rain?? Ya, lots of it. It was windy and cold too, but that was not gonna keep me and my girlfriend (yep that’s right, Shanda and I were apparently a couple that day, sorry Jess) away. We trekked down to the parade route and took shelter under the entryway to a building.

What fun! I wish I could show you, but I left my camera in the car. (Hey when you have got a screaming baby, cameras are the last thing on your mind). I am hoping to snag some from friends and post them later.

The rain let up every now and again and we would venture out from under our cement shelter and wave to all the people in the parade. Addie finally passed out and took a long nap. Yay, no more tears.

I have to say I was disappointed in the turnout this year. I think the rain deterred people from coming out.

But for those who did come out it was quite the show. We saw Queens and Kings, Clowns and Hoopers. Rory, Matty and Kathy all shouted loud and proud for Hotel Monaco. Tony floated for Club Bliss (I think), Chelsea was her fantastic Hooping self (and oh so skinny, way to go Chels!) Celeste walked with the ROTC (Rightously Outrageous Twirling Corp). I was so proud to see all my friends out supporting the gay community!

Easter Chicks

Posted by: Michelle  /  Category: Addie, Holiday, family and friends

Easter this year just beautiful! It was great weather and Addie had so much fun! She and I woke up bright and early and had breakfast. She got dressed in her new Easter dress, and I did her hair in those adorable little pigtails.

We woke up Daddy and headed down to Grams and Grumps house for a late lunch.

While we were there she got a chance to explore the backyard

She saw a bird…

Walked around a little bit…

And found a flower!

After a much needed nap it was off to Grandma Steph’s house for a later dinner and some socializing (I unfortunately didn’t get any pictures at Grandma Stephs house), but Addie always has a blast when she is there!

Grams got her a pink sand pail filled with goldfish crackers, sun dried tomato puffs and Addie’s favorite, yogurt covered rasins. Of course in lieu of the new Easter tradition, Addie got a new pair of shoes and a new outfit as well.

Grandma Steph got her a nice basket lined with bright royal blue fabric filled with goodies for both Addie and Jess and I. Girl Scout Cookies and pink mints for Jess and I, and a new dress and some much needed onsies for the upcoming summer season.

Hooray for Easter!
