Yesterday I got a text message, this is what it said:
ApplicationCenter / This is an automated message from Transwest Credit Union.Your ATM card has been suspended. To reactivate call urgent at 1-888-400-4286
Again, ARE YOU KIDDING ME??
First things first.. I have no Transwest Credit Union Card. Second, why would they text me not call. Third, ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
So curiosity gets the best of me and I call the number. There is a very computer generated voice on the other end (picture something from the 1990’s… it didn’t even make an attempt to sound human!) asks me to input my 16 digit credit card number
*Screeeeeeech* Stop.
Ok, so the shotty text message, a computer generated voice asking me for my credit card number .. and best yet, when I called, It didn’t even say, “Thank you for calling….” or “Security department…” Nothing. Zip.Zilch.Nada. Just “Enter your 16 digit credit card number”
Again I ask, are you kidding me.
So… I play along. Hmm credit cards have 16 digits, so I randomly type in 16 digits and wait. It tells me my card is invalid. Hmmm, thats odd. The card I don’t have with Transwest Credit Union is invalid? Ok, maybe I guessed wrong… I’ll try a different set of random numbers. Nope. Still wrong. Eventually the system will get sick of me and hang up on me – OR – theoretically transfer me to a live human. So I just keep guessing…I mean, really how many times will it let me do this?
More than 6. I gave up, it appears to me that someone has stolen my ATM from a bank I am not a member of. CRAP! Now what, should I call sesame street? Maybe Elmo can help me out… he is really good at pretending!
So, I laugh it off and think to myself, honestly, who is gonna buy into this crap. Today, I was telling Shanda about it and I tried to call the number back, but it has been disconnected.
I guess they don’t wanna play anymore.

So within a minute of posting this I was informed it was on the news last night! I feel so special that I was included in this scam.. cool stuff like this never happens to me!

Two weeks ago, Addie met up with Grams and Grumps at the bowling alley. As always she was a huge hit, Grumps just loves to show her off!
After the bowling alley we went back to Grams and Grumps house where Grams read Addie a story! Addie turned the pages while Grams tried to keep up… apparently Addie is a speed reader. Grams tell the best stories ever!
On this particular day, as Addie enjoyed an evening in the playpen, Grandma Steph was particularly amusing. It makes you wonder what both of them were thinking!
Thanks for such a fun night Grandma Steph, lets say we do it again… how Wednesday for you?
Kneebouncers.com is quite possibly the best thing since… Cheerios? I was struggling to find something that would keep Addie’s attention for more than about 2 minutes on Sunday afternoon when I stumbled across the above mentioned website. WONDERFUL. Wait, WON-DER-FUL! AMAZING! Addie is learning to use a laptop at just 8 1/2 months old. I highly recommend anyone who has little tots visit the page and explore the many games. I have added our favorite to our homepage, just click the ADDIE LOVES button at the top and you can play along with her!
Grandma Steph would be so proud, Addie played the piano!
It doesn’t get much better than this… or does it?
Last night just before Jess and I walked out the door for our “adult night out” Addie decided to start crawling…. a lot! It was very hard to leave her as we were so happy. somehow we managed and sure enough, she is still crawling today.
Oh my Addie,
It is possible you will never understand the joy you bring to me. Each morning when I wake you up and sing your good morning song we smile. You are happy to see me, I am happy to see you. How is it possible that while you are just in the next room, and I am only asleep for 5 hours, I manage to miss you during that time.
You are getting “so big.” So independent. So emotional. Every day you learn a new trick, a new face, a new way of getting my attention. Your Grams thinks you are spoiled, I have to say I agree with her. But how can I not spoil you with love and hold you every second of the day? I have so few hours with you between work and school…It’s no wonder I want to hold you. But you, are you and want to explore your new world, you don’t want to be held…unless other people are around, then you want me. Just me. I know by this, you love me.
You have outgrown almost all your clothes. We are now going into the bag of clothes I stored in the back of my closet because I thought you would never fit into them.
Your laugh is quite possibly the best thing I have every heard. I have done some of the strangest things just to hear it. Fortunately, I have your little laugh (and your big laugh) on video and I can watch it everywhere I go.
The world seems to be so exciting to you. It must, you refuse to sleep for more than about 5 hours at a time on most nights. While you are content to sit or lay in your crib and talk to your toys, still I wonder what you saying to them and why you’re not sleeping or even the least bit tired.
Today is Wednesday, and I am in class. I have not seen you since 7:30 this morning. Now, it is almost 9pm. You are asleep I’m sure. I miss you, but I am doing this for us, so you can have a better life, so we can have a better life.
My love, my life, my Addie.
Before we knew that Addie was okay, many tears were shed. She was frustrated, I was frustrated…But on this particular day, I didn’t know what to do, so I figured I would send her back, maybe her warranty was still in place and the factory could fix her…
This was the comment that showed up in my email this morning from my instructor at UoP:
Thanks for your remarkable insights and wisdom. You were outstanding – and your enthusiasm was contagious… Best wishes.
