6 months…where does the time go
Adeline turned 6 months old on the 11th of December. This post is a bit overdue, but the holiday season has a tendency to make me forget important things.
Her checkup with Dr. K was on the 16th. She enjoyed rolling around on the exam table and was loved by all the nurses. I think Jill is her favorite 
Dr. K came in and gave her the OK! Said she looked “very healthy” which I took to mean, “WOW! She is a big girl!” She was almost 18 pounds (17 lbs 12 oz) and 29 inches long. That puts her in the 75% for weight and the 80% for height. Although I am not surprised, I am 5’10 and Jess is 5’11 (although, I swear he is at least 6′ he denies it)so it is no wonder she is so tall! The funny thing, her head is small! I don’t remember the measurement but it was only the 35th percentile. So, that means she is long and chubby with a little head, but we love her all the same.
I figure, most kids have disproportionate heads anyway, so Addie just looks… normal?
Dr. K said she is growing well and everything looks great, he was disappointed that her next visit was going to be at the 1 year mark. He said no doubt she would be walking by then and will have changed from a baby to an “almost toddler” and was sad he would miss the transition. At times I feel like I am missing it, I can’t believe just 6 months ago I was holding a new born baby who wasn’t capable of doing more than eating sleeping and pooping. And now, here is my gorgeous little one who can sit, and roll and tries to feed herself to the best of her capabilities. Where does the time go?
