Three Months and Happy as a Clam!
I have never met a happy clam, in fact most clams are defiant and refuse to open even when I talk or sing to them. So, to say Addie is as happy as a clam seems wrong.
Regardless, (no not irregarless, because that is not a word) Addie is 3 months old today. Wow! We made it. According to websites/other parents today is some magical mystery day that everything gets better. Her colic goes away, she sleeps through the night, she becomes some sort of Goddess and solves world peace and hunger issues….
I took this picture yesterday which was her 12 week birthday.

So 12 weeks, and/or 3 months. I discourage the use of weeks and months at the same time. When someone says 12 weeks, you automatically think “hmm, 3 months.” But, in Baby World you are sooooo wrong. You see, I have figured it out. Parents measure their childs worth in weeks. The more weeks, the less they hate said child. (thats just the way it goes, the older a baby the longer they sleep at night and the more the parents sleep, thus less hate).
So when a child is three months old (today) she may actually be 12 weeks and one day, or 12 weeks and 3 days, or if it is around March and not a leapyear, she could be 11 weeks and 27 days… ya just never know. some parents take real offense when you say a child is 3 months and indeed her child is not! Her child is 12 weeks and 2 days and don’t you forget it!
Adeline is 3 months, today. So tomorrow she will be 12 weeks and 2 days or 3 months and 1 day. In my eyes, she is just… 3 months, and she will be until she turns 13 weeks old. Then I will proceed to tell people she is 13 weeks, then 14 then 15 then 15 1/2 then she will be back to 4 months old… but how many weeks and days will it actually be???

Woah. I’m not good at math. But I can tell you that your baby is smiling SO hard. And that makes me smile SO hard!
Shelly!
It’s true – 3 months is magical and I am SO glad that it is for Miss Addie too.
I LOVED my time with her – and with you. Thank you.

Wow you have high hopes for 3 months, uh I mean 12 weeks. Chloe turned 7 months and I have now idea how many weeks that is yesterday and she is still a great big butt head. A cute one but still a pain in the arse! 3 months is a turning point though. No more newborn. Now you have a baby. Soon to be a toddler (followed by a preschooler not an adolescent and Wes referred to Jake yesterday)
